Founded many years ago, The Scarborough Amicable Society has been a consistent source of support for the children of our community. We are a small, volunteer-run organisation with deep roots in the town.

Our official purpose is 'to provide clothing and ancillary assistance to needy children of families resident in the area... and normally attending publicly maintained schools.'

This means we provide grants and support to help families with the costs of school uniforms, winter coats, shoes, and other essential items that a child needs to feel equal and included among their peers. We believe no child's education or well-being should suffer for a lack of these basic necessities.
